The 6th edition of ‘Rest Assured: A legal guide to wills, estates, planning ahead & funerals in NSW’ is now available in all NSW public libraries, including those in Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Toormina.

Often the first time we think about wills, estates and funerals is when we are dealing with the death of a loved one. So, whether you are planning ahead or want to know about the responsibilities of administering an estate, this easy-to-read guide will give you practical information on the many issues involved.

Written by Rosemary Long, an accredited specialist wills and estates lawyer, and Trudy Coffey, Director of Social Work for South Western Sydney Local Health District, it answers questions such as:

What should you consider when writing a will? Who can you appoint as an enduring guardian? How do you contest a will?

The book also addresses complex issues such as burial on private land, burial at sea and coroner’s cases.

“The State Library can help you prepare for almost anything! We’re pleased to be making this important community resource freely available to everyone in their local public library and online,” says State Librarian Dr John Vallance.

You can find this useful book in the collection of legal information resources called the Legal Tool Kit in Council’s libraries. The full text of the resource is also available on the Find Legal Answers website: legalanswers.sl.nsw.gov.au

Find Legal Answers provides quality, plain English legal information for the community of NSW. The Find Legal Answers service is co-ordinated by staff of the Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC) at the State Library of NSW.
