Funding to help develop local theatre

Council will provide $11,000 in funding to help JUTE Theatre Company further develop and promote the arts in Cairns.

Funding was granted through Council’s Industry and Economic Development Fund for the Art Investment Snowball Project.

The funding is to assist JUTE to launch a targeted investment strategy, including securing private and philanthropic investment, and will coincide with a relaunch and the reopening of theatre company’s new premises at the refurbished Cairns Centre of Contemporary Arts (CoCA).
