Wyndham residents seeking to try a new activity can join more than 125 free sports, fitness or wellbeing activities running as part of the 2019 Healthy and Active Expo, from 21st  September to 13th October.

Sports Development portfolio holder Cr Peter Maynard said residents can try new fitness classes or even find their passion for a new sport.

“The Expo can help kickstart your fitness regime, ramp up current exercise or show you easy ways to keep fit,” Cr Maynard said.

“As well as enjoying improved fitness, the social and fun environment of these events can help forge new friendships in the community.”

“Sessions cater for all different age groups including toddlers (2 to 5 years), children (5 to 12 years), youth (12 to 17 years), adults (18 to 60 years) and seniors (over 60 years) and the programs are designed for all experience and fitness levels.”

“There will be great opportunities to get active with your family and experience Wyndham’s facilities. Sessions will be running at Eagle Stadium, AquaPulse and several Council-run sporting reserves including the newly developed Williams Landing Reserve where soccer, cricket and tennis will all be on offer for children.”

“Wyndham City Council is also partnering up with health, fitness and wellness businesses across Wyndham to deliver health and fitness education seminars and workshops.”

“With more sessions this year, greater variety and guaranteed fun for the whole family during these school holidays, make time for your health and wellbeing at Wyndham City’s free Healthy and Active Expo.”

Places will be limited so bookings are essential.
