Wyndham is the ideal place to live, work and play but we often forget the importance of socialising with our fellow community members due to the busyness of life.
Family Friendly portfolio holder and Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said Wyndham’s community centres are a hive of social activity and welcome new people to join in the fun classes and learning opportunities.
“Most of Council’s community centres have after school programs and a youth worker available to help young people with resumes, interview skills or have a chat.”
“Point Cook Community Learning Centre has two Bollywood dance classes running every Monday.”
“One incorporates hip-hop and jazz moves and is available for teenagers and adults and the other is geared for people with disabilities.”
“Or you could connect with African culture while improving your fitness with Yirol youth traditional dances every Saturday.”
“Wyndham Community and Education Centre has a wide range of adult education classes in information technology, business certificates, literacy and numeracy, IT Literacy and language classes or the hobby classes such as Tai Chi,” Cr Shaw said.
“Activities aimed at young residents are available at all our community centres from gaming clubs and robotics classes at Tarneit Community Learning Centre to an after school social space at Featherbrook Community Centre.”
