Cairns Regional Council advises that there will be road closures and changed traffic conditions this weekend for the Targa Great Barrier Reef tarmac rally.
Temporary road closures will occur at various locations across the Cairns region and neighbouring local government areas from Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September.

Targafest on the Cairns Esplanade
The Cairns community is invited to celebrate the Targa Great Barrier Reef at Targafest on the Cairns Esplanade this Saturday 30 August from 5pm to 9pm.
Cars will be parked along the Cairns Esplanade for public viewing for the duration of Targafest, which also includes free family activities.
The Cairns Esplanade will be closed to traffic between Spence Street and Florence Street from 5am until 11pm.
Deliveries and access will be available via traffic control until the hard closure at 2pm.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these closures and appreciates the patience and cooperation of road users.
