Council has welcomed sixteen new members to its 2019 Blue Mountains Youth Council and thanked outgoing members for their service.
The Youth Council provides a formal arena for young people to express their views, consult and engage with other young people and contribute to the development of the Blue Mountains community.
Membership is open to young people aged between 12 and 18 years of age and aims to represent a broad range of young people from across the Blue Mountains. “We value the voice of our Blue Mountains youth and the Youth Council is a great way for young people, from a variety of backgrounds, to have their say on issues that affect them and the whole community,” Mayor Cr Mark Greenhill said.
“The Youth Council enhances communication between young people and Council, and we thank all members who have taken part in the past for their valuable contribution. We also welcome our new members.”
The 2018 outgoing Youth Council members are: Maya Costa, Rohan Grant-Dawes, Alexandria Hinley, Caitlin Marlor, Benjamin McGrory, Paul Mukhin, Michael Pankhurst, Jack Prowse and Brodie Wylde.
