It’s the classic picture book we all grew up with – now see the story of Possum Magic come to life on stage in an all-new adaptation that will delight the child in all of us.
Based on the much-loved picture book by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas, the story of Possum Magic has been lovingly adapted by creative directors Eva Di Cesare and Sandra Eldridge from award-winning theatre company for young audiences, Monkey Baa.
The stage adaptation of this magical Australian classic follows the story of Grandma Poss who uses her best bush magic to make baby Hush, the little possum, invisible to avoid danger that arrives in the form of a snake.
Grandma Poss loves making magic. She makes wombats blue and kookaburras pink. She makes dingoes smile and emus shrink.
But when Hush longs to be able to see herself again, the two possums must make their way across Australia to find the magic food that will make Hush visible once more.
Featuring larger-than-life-size puppets, a cast of multi-talented performers and infectious songs, Possum Magic takes audiences on a whimsical musical journey – complete with lamingtons, pavlovas and vegemite sandwiches.
