The City of Armadale is assisting the State Government taskforce to facilitate community feedback on the Pickering Brook and Surrounds Sustainability and Tourism Strategy.
Residents, business owners and other stakeholders are invited to share their views on future tourism planning for the Pickering Brook townsite and surrounding area.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the State Government’s taskforce is examining planning and tourism options to help revitalise the area between Paulls Valley and Roleystone.
“The strategy aims to provide planning guidance for future sustainable tourism and economic development related initiatives in the Perth Hills and will also be exploring potential growth opportunities for the Pickering Brook townsite.
“Armadale residents, business and community members are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas on potential tourism initiatives for the Perth Hills with members of the Strategy Working Group.
“It is very important regardless of where in Armadale you live, or even how old you are, that you have your say and influence long-term planning for tourism development in the hills region.
“Your feedback will help set the priorities to revitalise the area’s tourism opportunities as we move forward with planning the future of our region”, said Mayor Zelones.

Representatives from the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage’s Strategy Working Group will conduct individual face to face meetings to discuss options and collate feedback. These meeting will be held at the Pickering Brook Sports Club on Friday 6 September (9am-5pm), Saturday 7 September (9am-1pm) and Monday 9 September (9am-5pm).
