Eurobodalla Council’s recreation planner Steve Picton says a timely review of management plans for the Hanging Rock sporting precinct and Corrigans Beach Reserve will map current and future infrastructure and guide future development for the precinct.
The Hanging Rock area includes Marine Rescue and the boat-ramp car park. Mr Picton said nearby Observation Point would also be included as it required a plan of management for the first time.
“We want to hear more about the issues and the opportunities there from users of these sites,” Mr Picton said.
Stakeholders including tourism operators, sporting groups, the Business Chamber and community groups have already been approached for their ideas and concerns. Mr Picton said there would be ongoing opportunity for the broader community to be involved.
“We’ll start next week with a drop-in session at Corrigans Beach Reserve from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday 4 September,” he said.
“We’ll have a marquee by the inclusive playground and amenities block. We hope to hear from people who have ideas for the future or just want to know more.”
The new plan of management and landscape masterplans for the precinct will guide budget allocations and help attract funding for tourism, sport and recreation at Batemans Bay.
Mr Picton said alternative arrangements were available for anyone interested but unable to make the scheduled session. Contact Steve Picton on 4474 1258
