Cardinia Shire Council and Outlook Community Centre are encouraging local residents to attend emergency preparedness sessions to discuss how you can be better prepared to survive an emergency event.
The free sessions provide residents with information such as checklists and contact numbers and assist in helping create personalised evacuation kits. The sessions are relevant to emergencies including fires, floods and storms.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Graeme Moore encouraged all residents, particularly those living within fire and flood zones, to attend one of Council’s free sessions.
“Emergencies can affect any community at almost any time, and the recent Bunyip Complex Fires have shown us just how dangerous, and real, they can be,” he said.
“It is vital that every community member living within an emergency zone is prepared for any event that may occur. Do not leave your planning to the last minute. Give your family the best chance by being prepared. Please consider attending one of these localised, free sessions.”
RSVP is essential. To book your place, call 5940 4728 or online at www.outlook.org.au
A number of ‘drop-in’ emergency preparedness sessions are also available throughout the coming months. These sessions do not require RSVP. Residents are encouraged to come along for information regarding emergency preparedness.
