Redland City Council’s Parks & Conservation crews will be undertaking multiple planned burns in the Point Lookout area on North Stradbroke Island/Minjerribah, starting today Tuesday 6 August and going through to Friday 9 August 2019, commencing each day at approximately 9.30am (weather permitting).
LocationGeorge Nothling Drive, Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island (Tramican Street and George Nothling Drive Conservation Areas).
These burns are being undertaken for hazard reduction and ecological purposes.
It is appreciated that these burns may cause some inconvenience, however all attempts will be made to limit any smoke hazards from the work. Traffic management will be in place as a contingency.
Motorists are advised to drive with cautions and to conditions. Residents should close windows and doors, and keep medications close by if suffering a respiratory condition.
