Less Is More: A Talk on Living More with Less by Mike Campbell

Mike Campbell is a minimalist; a speaker, podcast host and the writer behind the website LiveImmediately.com.   Mike’s own journey of growth and change led to his family packing, donating, or selling everything they owned in Australia, to head off on a year adventure, attempting to house sit their way through North America.

Mike started LiveImmediately.com so he could share the lessons he learnt along the way, to encourage people to take that step in their own lives, to be deliberate with their actions, to not put things off until tomorrow, to live immediately.

Mike says that his message “is not about packing your family up and moving overseas. It’s about doing the thing that brings you the most joy as often as you can, about enjoying right now, being happy with what you’ve got, taking risks, finding the positive, and that less is more.”

Mike encourages people and organisations to live more with less, and to spend as much time as possible doing things they enjoy with people they love.   Mike helps people to align their values and enjoy all aspects of life.

“If people are having fun and are happy with themselves, then this will overflow to the people around them, and fundamentally to the children in their lives. And if we can raise children with smiles on their faces, it means that everything else is taken care of.”

Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters says “books on minimalism, decluttering and owning less to live more is an extremely popular reading topic at the library, and we invite the community to come along and be inspired by Mike’s free talk.”
