Big ideas are welcome at the next round of community consultation for the masterplan that will become the blueprint for Campbelltown, Leumeah and Macarthur CBDs.
The Reimagine Campbelltown City Centre (RCCC) project began in in late 2017 with the development of the vision, with work currently underway to develop the masterplan which will ensure delivery of the vision which focuses on sustainability, resilience, digital transformation and celebrating the uniqueness of Campbelltown.
This important strategic planning document will include detail such as major attractions and iconic places that could be international tourism opportunities to enhance the city, drive investment and ensure the future prosperity of Campbelltown.
While RCCC focuses on the next 20 to 40 years, the Campbelltown Billabong Parklands is a flagship project that will start to transform our CBD with construction scheduled to start next year.
The $18.75 million water recreation space will be delivered under the Western Sydney City Deals Liveability fund and located in the city centre in Apex Park, Bradbury.
“Now is the time for everyone to have their say about these two transformational projects and tell us what kind of place you want Campbelltown to be in the future,” said Mayor George Brticevic.
“We want to hear any big ideas that would enhance the appeal and the lifestyle of our city centre as well as attract more people to come and visit,” Cr Brticevic said.
“During our Identity and Branding Project, residents told us Campbelltown was a place of bold and direct action. We want those values reflected in our vision for the future.”
An online survey is open now for Reimagine Campbelltown City Centre and a collaboration session on the morning of Saturday 14 September. Anyone interested in attending can register as part of the online survey.
The Billabong Parklands online survey will be open from Monday 9 September and an onsite consultation event held at Apex Park from 12pm to 3pm, Saturday 14 September for a fun day and sausage sizzle.
