Dumbo, Missing Link to liven up school holidays

School holiday movies are coming back to the Theatre Royal in Camperdown.

Corangamite Shire Council Economic Development and Events Officer Tammy Young said the movies would give young people something a bit different to do on their holidays.

“Going to the theatre is a fun way to get out and socialise with friends, making it an event rather than just sitting at home streaming something,” she said.

“Come along and make a day of it."

On Thursday 26 September Council will screen Dumbo, the remake of the Disney classic, starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Alan Arkin.

Directed by Tim Burton, it uses modern CGI animation to make you believe an elephant really can fly.

The following Thursday, 3 October, kids can watch Missing Link, which is a hilarious  stop-motion film about an explorer taking bigfoot to find his Yeti cousins in the Himalayas.

It features the voices of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, David Walliams, Stephen Fry, Matt Lucas, Timothy Olyphant,  Emma Thompson, and Zach Galifianakis.

Ms Young said entry was free with the Bath street doors opening at 1pm for a 1:30 pm start.

“If you live in Timboon or Cobden, the session times have been arranged to fit in with Pope's bus services,” she said.

Food and drinks, including fresh popcorn, will be available for purchase.
