A celebration of all that is Liverpool lit up Norfolk Serviceway on Saturday for the third Eat Your Heart Out festival.
Food offerings from across the globe filled the bellies of 5000 festival-goers as they listened to a packed musical line up, led by South West Sydney sensation L-FRESH The LION.
Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said it was wonderful to see the festival grow each year.
“Eat Your Heart Out started as a celebration of our revitalised city centre and three years on, we still have plenty to celebrate,” Mayor Waller said.
“Each year, we highlight a different pocket of the CBD and this year, we chose Norfolk Serviceway.
“During the week, it’s full of cars and supply vans servicing the wonderful businesses that back on to it, but for one special afternoon and evening, it was filled with people dancing, children playing games and families enjoying fantastic food.
“The local businesses involved – El Topo Cantina, Nefiz, Al Israa, Tropicana, Bun Me Baguette and Macquarie Bistro – were run off their feet with customers, many of whom were discovering these shops for the first time.”
Settlement Services International’s New Beginnings Festival presented the music line-up – an eclectic mix of hip-hop, soul and beats with a distinct South West Sydney flavour.
The Desi Experience, presented by the Bindi Bosses, showcased a high-energy blend of traditional and modern dance and music styles – all hosted by drag queen Radha.
Liverpool-born-and-raised headliner L-FRESH The LION brought his incredible live performance to the festival and had the crowd dancing along.
“It was an incredible night and I want to thank everyone who came along and took part,” Mayor Waller said.
