To celebrate NSW Bike Week, Fairfield City Council invites the community to join in a free bike ride around the City on Sunday 22 September.
Departing from Nalawala Sustainability Hub at Fairfield Showground, participants will discover the City’s beautiful parks and local attractions during the easy paced, 20km ride.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said traveling around the City by bike is one of the best ways to enjoy our natural and built assets.
“Council has laid more than 90km of cycle ways to ensure our community has access to safe and healthy ways of getting around our beautiful City,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Riders will be guided by experienced ride leaders who are familiar with the route, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and safe."
“Cycling is a fantastic way to improve one’s health and wellbeing. I encourage people to take part in the ride with family and friends.”
Participants are required to wear a correctly-fitted helmet, bring sunscreen, a water bottle and ensure their bike is in good working order. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
A free lunch at Nalawala Community Hall is included at the conclusion of the ride.
