Tourism guide promotes spring, summer events

A brochure promoting a number of major events occurring throughout the Gannawarra between September 2019 and February 2020 is being distributed widely.

Tourism Events Spring and Summer promotes many of the community events planned for towns and communities throughout the Gannawarra Shire during the next six months.

The brochure highlights more than 30 events, ranging from performances, festivals and sporting competitions, as well as regular monthly events, including Cohuna parkrun and monthly markets at Murrabit, Kerang and Cohuna.

“Whether it is the Big Cohuna Festival, ski racing at Lake Charm, the Quambatook Silo Cinema or community celebrations marking New Year’s Eve, there is plenty on offer for everyone between now and February 2020,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“Council’s tourism team has worked with the numerous community groups and organisations located within the Gannawarra to develop this brochure, which is a major promotional tool for locals and visitors to the area.”

Copies of Tourism Events Spring and Summer are available from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang, the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre at Cohuna and numerous tourism facilities located throughout the Gannawarra.

“If your group or organisation would like their event to be considered for the next edition of Council’s Tourism Events brochure, please visit www.gsc.vic.gov.au by December 30 to submit your event details,” Mayor Learmonth said.
