A 1.3 kilometre stretch of road in Tarneit will soon get a new lease on life, with contracts being awarded for the reconstruction of Thames Boulevard.
Negri Contractors were awarded the contract at Tuesday night’s Ordinary Council Meeting (3rd September 2019), paving the way for a smoother drive along Thames Boulevard.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said the project will see 1.3 kilometres between Brentwood Drive and Esquire Place completely reconstructed, and drainage upgraded.
“Negri have a proven track record of delivering in our municipality. They have just completed the upgrade of Forsyth Road between Old Geelong Road and Sayers Road – on time and on budget.”
“These works will be delivered in stages, between roundabouts along this road, in order to complete the works sooner,” Cr Shaw said.
“There will be temporary road closures to deliver this upgrade, but locals will be given ample notice of these closures and detours will be in place.”
“A reconstructed Thames Boulevard will make the road smoother and safer for motorists in the area, getting them home to their families sooner.”
“We thank drivers for their patience as we deliver these much-needed works.”
