Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is inviting the community to have their say on future improvements to Emmerson Park in Centenary Heights and the Toowoomba Waterbird Habitat in Rangeville.
TRC’s Environment and Community portfolio leader, Cr Joe Ramia said that Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on Emmerson Park and the Toowoomba Waterbird Habitat including what they like, how they currently use each park and what can be improved.
“The proposed upgrades are part of TRC’s East Creek Corridor District Recreation Park Improvements Project.
“The project aims to improve park recreational facilities along and near the East Creek Parkland Corridor.
“It may include improvements to features such as playgrounds, landscaping, picnic facilities and other recreational and support facilities which encourage people to visit and stay longer at our parks.
“The project will also consider future parking, accessibility and minor recreational improvements at Lake Annand Park in South Toowoomba and future improvements to the East Creek corridor in Middle Ridge.
“Council is seeking community feedback to help guide future improvements to Emmerson Park and the Toowoomba Waterbird Habitat.
“We’d like to hear about what the community loves about these parks, how the spaces are currently used and what can be improved,” Cr Ramia said.
“You can share your ideas for each park until Sunday 29 September 2019 by completing an online survey at Council’s Your Say website. Hard copy surveys are also available at customer service centres.
“Survey feedback will be used to guide the development of draft concept designs for each park. The community will have an opportunity to comment on the draft concept from late 2019.
“It is important to note that any future upgrade works will be dependent on funding and Council priorities.”
