Electoral Caretaker Period Policy

The Town of Bassendean has approved a new Electoral Caretaker Period Policy.

Caretaker period refers to the period between the close of Candidate nominations on the 37th day before Election Day, and the close of polls on Election Day.

For the 2019 Local Government Elections, Caretaker period commences 4 pm, 12 September 2019 and ends at 6 pm, 19 October 2019.

Although the business of Council continues, and ordinary matters of administration still occur, there are important conventions that must apply during the Caretaker period.
