Luke Gibson joins the Town of Bassendean in late October as the new Director Community Planning.
He joins Chief Executive Officer Peta Mabbs and Director Corporate Services Paul White in the new Executive Team, with recruitment underway for an Executive Manager Infrastructure.
Luke has experience across local government planning and development roles at Gosnells, Vincent and Mundaring Councils since 2003. He has extensive experience in development control, future planning and land administration and has been heavily involved in the development and implementation of key strategic planning frameworks, including the City of Gosnell’s Public Open Space and Local Housing Strategies.
He was named Young Leader of the Year by the Institute of Public Administration Australia, which represents public servants in the Local, State and Commonwealth government sectors, plus other not-for-profit and community based organisations. His award was for his high standards of leadership and particularly his involvement in land acquisition activities in Gosnells where the City is rolling out new infrastructure and open spaces to rejuvenate the local communities.
