Liverpool residents are being urged to get on their bike and join two community rides at Casula for NSW Bike Week on Sunday 22 September.
The rides – one for children and one for adults – will both start and finish at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. All participants will receive a free gift such as a bike repair kit.
Children will ride 2km along the Casula Parklands shared path and back. Adults will ride 11km in a circuit taking them along the Liverpool-Fairfield rail trail, looping around Liverpool and back to Casula via Leacock Regional Park.
“NSW Bike Week is a great opportunity for people to get out and enjoy Liverpool in a different way,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said. “It’s a chance to see parts of the city you don’t usually visit or to maybe see a familiar area from a whole new perspective.
“And of course it’s also a wonderful way to exercise. Make sure you bring your family and friends – this is a community event that everyone can get behind.”
Registration for both rides is at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre from 9am. The children’s ride starts at 10am, with the adults taking off at 11am. Child bike riders must be accompanied by a parent.
