Lodging a Development Application will be even easier, when City of Canterbury Bankstown goes digital on Tuesday 8 October.
After this date, all Development Application lodgements will be accepted in PDF format, on a USB stick, not paper.
Mayor Khal Asfour said the change in process would not only be more environmentally responsible but improve efficiency.
"It will mean Council officers will be able to start the assessment process immediately," he said.
"By taking a more digital approach to our DA lodgement process, we’ll save time and resources, and deliver faster outcomes.
"Importantly, it will not be at the cost of the rigorous assessment processes we have in place."
The changes will apply to all Development Applications, including:
Applications to Modify Consent; Review of Determination; Construction Certificates; Complying Development Certificates; and Building Information Certificates.Applicants will also be notified of the outcome of their lodgement via email.
The Planning and Building Lodgement Guide has been updated to reflect these changes, with more information found at cb.city/development
