The Victorian Seniors Festival program is out now with a fantastic line up of entertainment and discounted activities along with a spectacular performance from Colleen Hewett.

Campaspe Shire Community Care Manager Janelle Wheatley said there is around 50 free or low-cost events for Seniors Card holders throughout October specifically tailored for our aged community.

“Whilst there are activities on for the whole month of October, the concentration of events occur during Seniors Week, starting Sunday, 6 October through to Sunday, 13 October,” Ms Wheatley said.

“Seniors Week promotes active ageing, health, security and community participation, and with this year’s theme being ‘Get into it’, we really hope our community takes full advantage of what’s on offer.”

“Seniors Victoria and Campaspe Shire Council are particularly excited to announce that Colleen Hewett will be the feature performer at the festival concert on Wednesday, 9 October at 1.30pm at Echuca’s Paramount Cinema’s and Performing Arts Centre. For a booking fee of only $5, which includes afternoon tea, it is guaranteed to sell out quickly.”

Colleen is an Australian singing, theatre and TV icon with several smash hits early in her career followed by breathtaking stage performances in ‘The Boy from Oz’ and ‘Shout’. This is definitely a performance not to be missed, so be sure to book early by calling 5482 3399.

Other events include paddlesteamer rides, library groups, computer and technology classes, exercise classes, genealogy talks, legal and financial sessions, art tour and social croquet games.

“During Seniors Week, Seniors Card holders will have access to free Victorian public transport including V/Line,” Ms Wheatley said.
