There are 2.7 million carers across Australia. Many of them are doing vital work, unseen and behind closed doors. To celebrate the incredible contribution they make to our community, we have a calendar of free events this Carers Week (13-19 October) focused on relaxation, socialising and having fun.
Anyone at any time can become a carer and National Carers Week is an opportunity to raise awareness about the diversity of carers and their caring roles. If all carers stopped doing what they do, it would cost the country $60.3 billion per year to replace them - that is over $1 billion per week.
If you’re a carer or you know someone who’s a carer, take some time out and enjoy these free activities created especially for you!
Events are free – but bookings are required.
