Cardinia Shire Council is seeking applications from emerging contemporary musicians to take part in a new Music Residencies Program.
The Music Residencies Program will focus on skills development, capacity building and knowledge development with the aim of assisting participants to launch their professional careers.
Successful applicants will be mentored by industry professionals, offering opportunities for capacity building, and enabling the successful applicants to create music, take creative risks and learn the industry ropes.

The program will run over October and November with each successful applicant given time to focus on their own practice, combined with tailor-made activities that focus on fostering and expanding skills and knowledge.
Each residency will focus on four aspects of the music industry including musicality, technical/production, marketing/social media and professional development.
Applicants can either be individual musicians or bands/musical groups. There will be four residencies offered with each residency being the equivalent of one week’s duration.
It is expected the selected musician/s can commit to a minimum of 35 hours for the duration of the residency and be available for rehearsal prior to the final performance on Thursday 28 November.
A drop-in session will also be held at the General Food Store in Emerald from 3pm to 4pm on Saturday 14 September.
