When it comes to paying your rates this financial year, ease the stress that a lump sum or limited instalment payment program can create, and save money with the City of Armadale’s Smarter Way to Pay direct debit program.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said he encouraged ratepayers who aren’t able to pay their rates in full this year to consider going on to the City’s ‘Budget friendly’ Smarter Way to Pay payment arrangement.
“Our direct debit system enables ratepayers to pay-off their rates on an ongoing basis through a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly personalised direct debit payment arrangement.
The program was introduced over 15 years ago to help take the pressure off ratepayers at no additional cost to the resident and has since attracted 10,500 ratepayers to join the program.*terms and conditions apply.
“The only fees and charges associated with the program is a $10 dishonour fee per dishonoured payment, and if the ratepayer cancels their direct debits within two years of their commencement date, and Administration Fee of $51 will apply and they will not be able to start another direct debit arrangement for the same property.”
The earlier ratepayers start on the payment plan in this financial year, the lower their repayments will be over the payment period.
Direct Debit payments are accepted from a cheque or savings account only, not a credit card. Payments are reviewed annually.
“I encourage ratepayers to contact the City’s Rates Department on 9394 5164 to discuss the payment method and sign up today,” added Mayor Zelones.
