Sunraysia residents and groups are being asked for their views and thoughts on the future of the historic Mildura Station Homestead at a series of breakfast consultation sessions this month.
Built by the Jamieson brothers in 1847, close to the original Mildura pastoral lease, the Mildura Station Homestead is one of our region’s iconic historic markers.
To ensure the homestead is preserved and continues to be an important part of Mildura’s evolving riverfront precinct, Council is keen to hear the community’s views on the landmark structure.
Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said this month’s consultation sessions were an important opportunity to play a role in the future of the homestead and surrounding precinct.
“This is a chance for community members, groups and stakeholders that use the Mildura Station Homestead to let us know what is important to them and how this precinct could be developed,” Cr Modica said.
Three sessions will be held at the homestead on the following days, each running from 10am to 11.30am:
Saturday 14 September
Sunday 15 September
Saturday 21 September
“Feedback from these sessions will provide a platform for the community to have direct input into Council’s decision-making process,” Cr Modica said.
“We want to ensure this historic landmark for our region continues to be embraced and enjoyed by our community, and residents’ feedback from these consultation sessions will provide us with a clearer picture of the communities’ needs, and the resources required to realise them.”
