The Miners Rest community is being encouraged to have their say about the character of their Local Neighbourhood as part of a long-term vision for the township. 

The City of Ballarat has launched an online survey to gauge community sentiment around neighbourhood character at Miners Rest and what residents would like to see protected through planning controls. 

Council has worked closely with the Miners Rest community for the past two years, developing the Miners Rest Township Plan, which will provide a vision for the area until 2040. 

During this consultation process, residents have expressed a desire to protect the character of the original part of town – Miners Rest (north of Cummins Road). 

The short survey link here will inform Council exactly what residents love about their township and what they would like to protect about the character of Miners Rest.  

Community members have until Monday 30 September to respond.
