The City of Armadale is inviting school aged children to join in the holiday fun in a range of free events across Kelmscott and Armadale Library and the History House Museum this coming school holidays 28 September to 13 October.
The school holiday program offers coordinated activities for children aged from three through to 12, across a great range of free events and workshops including Lego activities, story time, craft activities and author talks.
Kelmscott Library 2784 Albany Highway, Stargate Shopping Centre
World of Lego - Free play! 1 - 12 October, during library opening hours Build some Lego creations when you visit the Kelmscott Library anytime during the holidays. All are welcome. Bookings are not required.
Family Lego Robotics Saturday 5 October, 10 - 11.30am Working together as a family group, participants can enjoy working with a WeDo robotics kit and an Ipad to build simple machines, using basic computer programming to make them move. This session is suitable for all ages. Bookings are essential..
German Storytime Monday 7 October, 10.30 - 11.30am Join our regular storytime and visit Germany! Share stories, songs, rhymes and craft in German and English. This session is suitable for children aged three to eight years. Bookings are essential.
Author Talk: Scarlet Hood Thursday 10 October, 2 - 3pm Meet award winning author Mark C. Evans and visit Norway for a reading of Mark's book Scarlet Hood followed by a lesson on how to make a balloon Viking sword. This session is suitable for children aged eight to 12 years. Bookings are essential.
Saturday Storytime with the author of Hector, Hamish and Morag! Saturday 12 October, 10.30 - 11am Join local Scottish/Australian author Christine Gillougley reading her first picture book Hector, Hamish and Morag, a beautiful story of friendship, kindness and helping others. Participants will enjoy singalongs, rhymes and craft activities. All are welcome. Bookings are essential.

Tamil Storytime Friday 4 October, 2 - 3pm Visit India and hear the classic picture book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? in Tamil and English. Learn about the Tamil culture with presenter Sarala and finish with a fun craft session! This session is suitable for children aged three to eight years. Bookings are essential.
World Animals ‘Crafternoon’ Wednesday 9 October, 2 - 3pm Sam Hughes will host this special craft workshop, where participants get to sculpt some 3D pipe cleaners and pompom animals and creatures. This session is suitable for children aged six to 11 years. Bookings are essential.
History House Museum 7 Orchard Avenue, Armadale
Animal Madness Thursday 10 October, 10.30 - 11.30am Children can design their own jigsaw puzzle by drawing and colouring in your favourite wild animals, or create a mask of a cute furry animal. This session is suitable for children aged five to 11 years. Bookings are essential.
Parents or carers must stay with their child during these sessions. Childcare centres and groups must phone for bookings.
