Blue Mountains Leisure Centres are gearing up for their spring/summer seasons.
Glenbrook Swim Centre opened this week, one week earlier than scheduled, following remediation works to the outdoor pool shell.
Council’s seasonal pools will open throughout the coming months, with all being ready for swimmers in time for summer.
Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “I congratulate Council staff on exceeding their project target, for Glenbrook Swim Centre. Glenbrook pool is such a popular community asset.”
Councillor Brendan Christie, also representing Ward 4 in the Blue Mountains, said: “It’s wonderful that Blue Mountains residents and visitors are able to start swimming and enjoying themselves earlier than expected at Glenbrook. This is a great facility and I already know families who have jumped at the opportunity to use it this season.”
This welcome news follows on from Council’s commitment to extend pool opening hours, during heatwaves this summer.
