Women across the Gannawarra wanting to learn more about the basics of home and car maintenance are encouraged to register for a new program.
Gannawarra Shire Council, Murrabit Men’s Shed and Bendigo Health have partnered to run the Ganna Wanna Fix It program, which begins in October and runs through to June 2020.
“The program is designed for women who care for loved ones who want to learn about the basics of home and car maintenance,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“Participants will gather every second Thursday for a three-hour session to learn basic skills such as how to change a tap washer, re-hinge a cupboard door and replace flywire as examples.
“Murrabit Men’s Shed committee members will develop the program schedule in consultation with participants.”
Sessions will be held at the Murrabit Men’s Shed headquarters, located at Browning Avenue. There is no cost involved to take part, with lunch included at each meeting.
Program spaces are limited, so if you would like to express an interest in joining the program please contact Council’s Community Care services on (03) 5450 9333.
