Trailblazing Woodend manufacturer Barker Trailers took out the coveted Business of the Year award at the 2019 Bendigo Bank Macedon Ranges Business Excellence Awards last night.
The company was also named the Excellence in Trades, Construction and Manufacturing category winner at the awards gala dinner, held at Kyneton Town Hall.
The Business of the Year Runner-up was local free range egg producer, Josh’s Rainbow Eggs, which was also the winner of the Excellence in Agribusiness and Food Manufacturing category.
New to this year’s program was the People’s Choice Award. Voting started when awards finalists were announced and more than 3,700 votes were received. The award was presented to joint winners Blackbird Cakes and Josh’s Rainbow Eggs by Western Water, a longtime sponsor and supporter of the awards.
The annual awards recognise businesses which provide an outstanding service to the shire and beyond. Local businesses provide great value to the community as they provide local jobs, services and supplies.
