Maroondah ratepayers are reminded that the first instalment of their rates payment plan is due by Monday 30 September 2019.

For property owners who wish to pay their rates in one lump sum, the full payment is due on 15 February 2020.

Maroondah property owners should have received their 2019/20 rates notice in the mail, plus a four-page rates brochure highlighting how rates are allocated and some of the planned capital works projects that will take place during this financial year.

Council endeavours to make the payment of rates as easy as possible for all ratepayers. In addition to conventional methods of payment, electronic banking is also available.

As advised on the rates notice, ratepayers have a number of options for payment:

In person – at any Council Service Centre or at any Australia Post office Telephone – from your credit card BPAY – make payments directly from your bank account Mail – using the re-usable envelope attached to your rates notice Online – using your credit card Direct debit – pay using direct debit from your bank account by completing a Direct Debit form

For those wanting to pay by direct debit, Council has a nine-instalment payment option method. To register for this payment method, contact Council to request a Direct Debit Authority form

Council has a Financial Hardship Policy to assist ratepayers who may have difficulty in meeting rates payment deadlines.

Any ratepayer facing genuine financial hardship in paying their rates is urged to contact Council’s Revenue Services Team on 1300 88 22 33 as soon as possible to discuss individual circumstances.
