Livestock, pets or wildlife, animals play important roles in all of our lives.
The 2020 Corangamite calendar will focus on the animals of the Shire and Council is holding a competition to showcase residents’ talents.
“This is your opportunity to show off your photography skills,” Cr Trotter said.
“We are looking for high-quality images that capture the animals of Corangamite. Dogs, cats, birds, cows, horses, lambs, kangaroos, whales, reptiles… anything!
“Your creativity is the limit.”
The photo needs to be landscape orientation and high quality (at least 2MB). You are welcome to use your smartphone as long the quality is good.

“Get snapping! Spring is a brilliant time to get out into nature with longer daylight hours,” Cr Trotter said.
“Each year 10,000 calendars are printed. They go to households and businesses across the Shire and are given out to visitors to promote the Shire, our natural attractions, events and goods and services.”
Entries close on Friday 15 November.
The top 12 entries, as judged by a panel of three including one Councillor and two Council staff members, will feature in the 2020 Corangamite Shire Calendar.
It will be distributed to every household with the Summer edition of the Corangamite Shire News in December.
