Council seeks nominations to recognize the achievements of local individuals and their contribution to the Lithgow LGA. Awardees will be announced and celebrated at the Australia Day Ceremony on 26th January 2020
“There are countless people and organisations working tirelessly within our community that deserve to be recognised for the contributions they make to our region,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Ray Thompson. “The Citizenship Awards are an important opportunity for the community to recognise these achievements and say thank you.”
The NSW Local Citizenship Award categories are:
Volunteer of the Year Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen) Citizen Achievement Award (Young Citizen and Open Citizen) Service to the Community Award (Organisation) Outstanding Event AwardThe Volunteer of the Year Award is for people who have given their time freely to help the community within the Lithgow LGA.
The Citizen Achievement Award is for those who have excelled in their chosen field, which may include academia, business, the arts and sciences or community service. The Young Citizen Category is for people between the ages of 16 and 26.
The Open Category is for all ages over 26 years.
The Service to the Community Award (Organisation) is for organisations which aim to enrich the lives of the people in the Lithgow area. This organisation does not have to be a volunteer organisation.
The Outstanding Event Award recognises the significant contribution that special events make to our region.

Nominations will close on Friday 15th November.
