The City of Greater Bendigo is encouraging residents to have their say on the concept design plans for the Ewing Park Wheeled Sports Hub for scooters, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates and all forms of cycling.
The concept designs for Ewing Park includes a new district level skate park, learn to ride park and a cycling trail hub.
City of Greater Bendigo Health and Wellbeing Director Vicky Mason said the skate park will feature elements suitable for skateboards and scooters including a mini bowl.
“While the learn to ride park concept features a roundabout, pedestrian crossings, line markings and road signs to provide a safe place for adults and children to develop the skills they need to ride safety and independently on roads and paths,” Ms Mason said.
“The new trail hub will feature a shelter, new public toilet and information on Bendigo’s shared trail network.
“The concept designs complement the new oval redevelopment which includes an athletics track and lighting. Future developments at the park will include outdoor fitness equipment and creek crossings.”
The City is holding listening posts at the Ewing Park Pavilion from 5pm to 6.30pm Tuesday October 8 and 11am to 1pm on Saturday October 12 to allow interested residents to provide their feedback.
The concept designs will also be available to view at Wolstencroft Reserve between 4pm and 6pm on Monday September 23 and Saturday October 5, between 10am and 12 noon at the Eaglehawk Skatepark and between 1pm and 2pm at the McIvor Road Skatepark on Saturday October 5.
“Feedback from local residents and the general community is important and we would love to see everyone with an interest in this project come along to one of our listening posts, or fill out an online survey at www.bendigo.vic.gov.au by Wednesday October 16, 2019.
