Public Consultation - Access to Meetings Code of Practice

In accordance with the requirements of Section 92 the Local Government Act 1999, the Berri Barmera Council has revised its Access to Meetings – Code of Practice and hereby invites public comments / submissions on the Policy as part of the Public Consultation process.

The Policy outlines the principles and procedures that the Council will follow to have open, transparent and informed decision making and encourage appropriate community participation in the affairs of Council. However, Council also recognises that on a limited number of occasions it may be necessary in the broader community interest to restrict public access to discussion or documents.

Copies of the Code of Practice are available from Council’s principal office at 19 Wilson Street Berri, the Berri Library Kay Avenue, Berri, and the Barmera Library and Customer Services Centre, Barwell Avenue, Barmera.

Submissions and comments on the Policy are invited and must be received no later than 5:00pm Wednesday 16th October 2019, with written submissions marked as follows:
