Young artists invited to explore their creativity in Parramatta

Young artists, aged 5 to 12 years, and their families, are invited to come and put their creativity to the test at the Future Artists’ Club, Parramatta Artists’ Studios on Saturday 28 September, from 10am to 3pm.

This year’s program includes an exciting range of activities, from making clay flowers to painting with Chinese ink brush techniques and building a circuit to create an illuminated artwork. There will also be a colourful Chinese garden installation by resident artist Louise Zhang to explore.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said it was exciting to see Parramatta Artists’ Studios resident artists Dacchi Dang, Emma Fielden, Nadia Odlum, Marilyn Schneider, and Justine Youssef sharing their talents and insights with the next generation.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for young artists to enhance their skills and learn from our very own resident artists, and use their imagination to create artworks in a variety of mediums. Through the Future Artists’ Club program, we are inspiring a whole new generation and helping kids to develop an appreciation and understanding for art,” Cr Dwyer said.

Attendees will also be able to get their faces painted, mix up gooey slime, make a monster badge and create their own rainbow fish to add to the Chinese garden.

To start the day, the Darcy St Project will be offering coffee and tea tastings for parents.
