Cairns Regional Council has provided funding to nine organisations to deliver Christmas or New Year’s themed events.
Cairns Regional Council’s Christmas & New Year’s Events Grant funding provides assistance to local, not-for-profit groups staging festive events that make a positive contribution to the Cairns region.
Recipients of this year’s funding:
Yorkeys Knob Residents Association Inc. for Carols at Yorkeys Knob: $4,950 over a three-year funding period;Gordonvale District Chamber of Commerce Inc. for Carols in the Park: $11,400 over a three-year funding period;Redlynch Valley Community Group Inc. for their Christmas Festival: $4,950 over a three-year funding period;Babinda District Community Association Inc. for Xmas in Babinda: $11,400 over a three-year funding period;Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia for Christmas Lights on the Move: $6,000 over a three-year funding period;Remote Area Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Child Care (on behalf of 3MPride) for 3MPride Community Christmas Celebration: $4,950 over a three-year funding period;Launchpad for Life (on behalf of Manoora Community Garden) for Green Christmas: $1,650;Holloways Beach Markets Inc. for Holloways Beach Christmas Carols: $4,950 over a three-year funding period;Cairns Arts Society Inc. for Christmas Artisan Fair: $3,650.
