​There is a range of activities, classes and events for children to enjoy in Canterbury-Bankstown, during the upcoming Spring school holidays.

Mayor Khal Asfour said most are free.

“Kids can get crafty at one of our art workshops, learn about native animals at the libraries, or get active with sports at Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre,” he said.

“They can also even wear their scariest costume to our Scary Party for Halloween!”

Activities include:

Watercolour Fans Craft – have your paintbrush at the ready - Riverwood Library and Community Hub (Monday 30 September at 10.30am);Activity sessions – junior warrior course, dodgeball, taekwondo classes, soccer, basketball, scooter and bike skills – Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre (Monday 30 September to Friday 4 October);Something Wild – meet native animals like snakes, lizards, frogs and birds and learn about their habitats - Bankstown, Campsie, Chester Hill Library and Knowledge Centres, and Riverwood Library and Community Hub (Monday 30 September and Friday 4 October);Games Afternoon – for children aged 8-15 - Campsie Library and Knowledge Centre (Wednesday 2 October and Wednesday 9 October at 2.30pm);A Look Inside – explore how the human body works, learn about skulls, skeletons, vision and organ systems (for 8+) - Padstow Library and Knowledge Centre (Thursday 3 October).
