Mayor Jan Bonde hosted a supper on Wednesday 4 September 2019 at the North Motton Hall where residents of North Motton and surrounds enjoyed a lovely supper and an informal chat on local issues.
We’d sincerely like to thank the North Motton Community Group for their hospitality and fantastic catering and all of the community members who participated.
See below some Q&A responses from the evening:
Are we taking the Chemical Storage away from the Preston Tip site?Nothing has changed as far as chemical drums are concerned at any of our Country Transfer Station sites.
The general public are still invited to drop their chemical drums off at our sites and we still collect them every Wednesday as part of our Drum Muster responsibilities. We are not aware of this changing in the near future.
When are the works scheduled to fix the collapsed part of the Isandula Road from the last floods? The works are scheduled for early in the new year (February) and the work will take about 10 to 12 weeks.
The gravel used for grading on the roadsides appear different to what was used previously. There are rocks etc. flying up onto the road.We have not changed the gravel material and our technique and operators are the same. The only thing we believe may be causing the problem is the volume of logging trucks now using our roads. The only way to fix some of these roads would be to do a full gravel construction resheet on those roads.
When is it planned to repaint the North Motton Hall (external)?Nothing is planned at the moment for external refurbishment at the North Motton Hall. In the 10 year forward plan we do have some funds allocated for 2021/2022 for internal works. Anything that is unpainted like the brick wall we would try and leave so as to not introduce further maintenance. If the brick had moss etc. we would pressure clean when we paint the rest of the building.
