Lithgow City Council Partners with Ferrero

The Lithgow Visitor Information Centre will display and sell Ferrero’s locally produced Nutella and Tic Tac for the first time. These household favourites will be displayed with a “Proudly Made in Lithgow” message to showcase their home grown roots.

Nutella and Tic Tac have been manufactured by Ferrero locally for the Australian, New Zealand and East Asian markets for over 40 years. Today Ferrero is a major employer in Lithgow, employing over 100 locals, making a strong contribution to the local, and state, economies through the Lithgow factory.

Ferrero has a strong community focus and is proud of the employment opportunities offered to locals.

Ferrero’s Institutional Affairs Manager, Derek Lath said “Ferrero is proud to be part of the Lithgow community. As a company always looking at ways to create and share value, by providing products to the Lithgow Visitor Information Centre we are committing to the ongoing support of the Tourism Industry in Lithgow”.

Ferrero’s story began in the town of Alba, Italy, in 1946. Ferrero has grown from a patisserie store to become one of the world’s largest confectionary companies, employing over 40,000 people across 55 countries. The Lithgow factory was the first factory Ferrero launched outside of its origins in Italy.

Mayor Ray Thompson said “Lithgow City Council is very proud to partner with Ferrero to support Tourism in Lithgow and to highlight the ‘hero’ products that are manufactured here. This is a win for tourists, a win for Ferrero and a win for Lithgow as we continue to market and promote our destination”.
