The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is pleased to welcome Paul Martin as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Shire President Michelle Rich said Council and staff were excited to have Mr Martin on board and to lead the organisation.
“Paul has an impressive list of achievements across a long career in local government and we are delighted to have him commence in his role at the Shire,” Cr Rich said.
“With the Shire experiencing significant growth and key infrastructure projects on the horizon, we look forward to working with him to ensure the Shire continues to go from strength to strength in this exciting period.”
With more than two decades of experience in local government, Mr Martin’s previous role was CEO at the Shire of York, as well as holding previous roles as CEO at Town of Port Hedland and deputy CEO with the Shire of Broome.
Mr Martin said it was great to join the Shire and to lead the organisation.
“I would like to thank the Council for giving me this opportunity and I am committed to this role for the long-term,” Mr Martin said.
“The Council and community has done a lot of great work over recent years in setting the vision for the Shire as it goes through a period of rapid growth, and I am excited to help deliver this vision, while maintaining what our residents love about the community.
“My focus is to ensure the organisation continues its great work so we deliver on the vision for our community.
“Over the coming weeks and months I am looking forward to getting out into the community and meeting with local businesses and residents to understand their priorities.
“There are many great projects and initiatives happening and on the horizon, and I am committed to ensuring we continue this work and make them a reality.”
Mr Martin commenced with the Shire on Monday, 23 September.
