The school holidays have arrived and once again Cessnock and Kurri Kurri libraries have a great range of exciting activities planned!
We’ll be celebrating nature these holidays, making special Japanese hanging plants, creating a garden mosaic, and painting rocks (then hiding them for others to find).
We’ll also be getting up close and personal with stick insects – Kylie from Butterfly Experience will be teaching us all about these beautiful creatures. She’ll also guide us through creating a stick insect nursery. You’ll even be able to take home your own stick insect eggs to look after!
For our budding young artists, local art teacher Susanne Gorring will be running a special two-hour workshop or come along to one of our augmented reality colouring in sessions, and watch your drawings come to life!
Cessnock City Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters is encouraging local parents, carers and children to get involved in activities in our libraries this school holidays.
“Our libraries are a fantastic place for children to learn a new skill, have fun and make new friends and there’s also plenty on offer for local parents too.”
