The drop-in sessions on farmland mapping and drought support that were postponed last month due to the bushfire crisis will now be held at Tabulam on Wednesday, 9 October, and Woodenbong on Thursday, 10 October.
The Tabulam drop-in session will be held at the CWA Hall from 10am-4pm, while the Woodenbong session will be held at the Woodenbong Public Hall from 8am-1pm.
The drop-sessions have been organised by the NSW Department of Primary Industries.
NSW DPI has drafted important farmland maps for the western side of Kyogle Council local government area that identify lands with the best biophysical attributes for primary production.
The mapping is part of an action under the NSW Government’s North Coast Regional Plan, to ensure consistency in important farmland mapping across the region and to update planning provisions that link to the mapping.
Landholders are encouraged to have their say on the draft important farmland maps, which will be on public exhibition until 14 October 2019. Further information is available on the DPI website www.dpi.nsw.gov.au.
The Agricultural Advisory and Animal Health Team from North Coast Local Land Service will be at the drop in sessions to provide advice on managing livestock and property through drought.
The District Veterinarian, Liz Bolin will be available from 10am to 1pm at both sessions, while the NSW DPI’s Rural Resilience team also will be present to provide further support and advice.
