Council is inviting community comment on our draft Local Planning Statement, Blue Mountains 2040: Living Sustainably from 30 September 2019 to 15 November 2019. All NSW councils are required by the State Government to prepare one of these vision documents, summarising the unique values and characteristics of their local area, and capturing community aspirations for future land use and character.
Blue Mountains City Council Chief Executive Officer, Dr Rosemary Dillon, thanked everyone who participated in workshops and surveys to help Council develop the draft statement and the supporting studies and strategies including the Local Housing Strategy and Local Character Study and Statement.
“Our Local Planning Statement is not a change of direction but reflects the priorities for a sustainable, successful and resilient Blue Mountains set out in our Community Strategic Plan 2035,” Dr Dillon said.
“Together they will guide future land use planning decisions for the local area and help us to seek support from the State Government for projects and funding.” To find out more and have your say go to yoursay.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/localplanningstatement
