From the creators of celebrated Australian works Rumour Has It and Wrecking Ball comes the must-see live music event Lady Beatle – a kaleidoscopic journey through the Beatles’ most monumental hits coming to the Karralyka this October.
The critically-acclaimed musical memorial to The Beatles stars UK-born Australian stage and screen star Naomi Price (Beautiful: The Carol King Musical; Rumour Has It; Ladies in Black; The Voice Australia), sharing the whimsical tale inspired by true events and set to a soundtrack of The Fab Four’s biggest hits.
Rediscover The Beatles’ immortal catalogue reimagined and reinterpreted through sparkling original arrangements, with iconic songs including Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine, Here Comes the Sun and Penny Lane
Flanked by a live band, Price will transport you back to 1960s Liverpool, taking you along for the ride as she riffs off the cuff, and invites you to join in the big numbers, and ultimately has the whole audience up on their feet for the show’s epic mega-mix finale dance party.
“Lady Beatle is an enigmatic and wholly original character; she could be The Beatles’ biggest fan, or she could be someone entirely different and I take such delight in teasing out her true identity until she makes her swansong,” reveals Price of her stage persona.
“When Adam (The Little Red Company co-founder) and I delved into The Beatles’ remarkable catalogue to create the show, we discovered their world was populated with seemingly ordinary people – the barber, banker, fireman and nurse in Penny Lane; the meter maid of Lovely Rita; the teenage runaway who inspired She’s Leaving Home – ordinary people who have unknowingly become part of an extraordinary musical and cultural legacy,” Price said.
“Lady Beatle is our homage to these characters and others whose stories might never have been told were it not for four ordinary lads from Liverpool,” adds Price, founder of The Little Red Company.
The show will have you dancing in your seat and singing along. If you don’t join in with Yellow Submarine, Let It Be and Hey Jude, then are you really a Beatles fan?
