The community is being invited to have their say on what actions council could take to improve people’s experiences as they navigate council’s planning and development services.
An online survey has been developed that includes a list of suggested actions.
The suggested actions are the result of the shared experiences of people who participated in the Better Pathways to Planning community engagement one-on-one interviews and focus group sessions.
Council CEO, Bernard Smith, said he was encouraged by the openness of the participants in telling their stories and sharing their experiences; and also with their willingness to offer suggestions for improvement.
“The feedback I received from the independent consultants was that, for many of the participants, being involved in this project gave them an opportunity to share their frustrations and make suggestions on how things could be done differently.”
The suggestions that people shared during the one-on-one interviews and focus group sessions have been sorted into 10 actionable items. The community is being asked to rank the five actions that they think would have the most positive impact for our community.
The survey is available until 5pm, Friday 11 October at www.gympie.qld.gov.au/better-pathways.
“We are encouraging our community to share the link with people in their network because the more responses we receive, the clearer the picture we have of what actions our community would most appreciate and value,” said Bernard.
