Roll out the streamers, prepare a plate and enjoy a street party with your neighbours!
Wyndham City is encouraging and supporting neighbourhoods to take part in Wyndham Street Parties this summer.
With the longer days and warmer weather approaching, why not take part in the longstanding tradition of neighbourhood get-togethers in their streets?
Wyndham City Mayor and Family Friendly City portfolio holder, Cr Mia Shaw said Wyndham City was supporting the Wyndham Street Parties program with an easy how-to guide and a dedicated Street Party Liaison Officer to help with enquiries.
“Wyndham residents can enjoy parties on their streets and Council will ensure the closure of approved streets for up to four hours, so residents can socialise safely,” Cr Shaw said.
“A street party is a fun way to meet neighbours for the first time or strengthen existing friendships in an informal setting where they can chat, share a meal, as well as play music and games.”
“By setting up an organised street party, makes it a safer environment to have family-friendly fun with the entire neighbourhood involved.”
“I encourage residents to get together with your neighbours and start planning your Wyndham Street Party now.”
This program will run until 30th March 2020. For more information and to apply to host a street party, visit www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/streetparties or contact Rheanna Christodoulou, Street Party Liaison Officer on [email protected] or 9742 0777.
